Good shifter for 18 speed touring build, November 28, 2010 By Robert Sanges (Massachusetts, USA) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Shimano ST-4501 Tiagra STI Double Shifter Lever Set (9-Speed) (Sports) I installed these on my Salsa Veya. I built the bike as a tourer with a 9 speed mountain rear derailleur and double front.
My other road bike has Ultegra shifters and these work just as well. I find the hoods comfortable and I like the gear indicator.
I would consider using these again on another build.
