Gets the Job Done, June 21, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Easton VICE AM Aluminium Bike Stem (Sports) I needed a stem with a shorter reach to replace the stock stem on my new bike. I wasn't sure exactly what size I wanted, so I wanted to get the cheapest I could find. This stem fit the bill rather nicely.
It's meant for a Mountain Bike, but as long as the diameter is right, all that means is you've got a little extra weight on the bike. Because this is likely going to be a temporary stem, I wasn't too worried about that.
Overall this is a decent stem for the price. If you're swapping it out with a stem from a road bike, you'll definitely be able to feel the difference in weight. For a MTB? Not so much. The overall design of the stem is more robust and a bit thicker overall, which you may or may not like for your slick road bike. Who knows. I actually like how it transitions from the threadless to stem mounting points more gradually than traditional road stem designs.
I give this stem 5 stars because honestly, for the price, you can't get much simpler... Read more
